Repair IEYou may find it necessary to repair Internet Explorer from time to time, especially if your system has been infected with spyware and viruses that have damaged your computer. Once the malware has been removed, you can proceed with a repair of IE. The following article instructs you on how to repair your web browser in various Windows Operating Systems.
Repair Internet Explorer in XPTo repair in XP, you'll need to run the System File Checker utility. You can do this by going to Start, then Run and type cmd in the dialog box. Hit "ok" and at the prompt, type sfc /scannow. You may need your Windows disk, so have it handy. The System File Checker will look for corrupt or missing Windows files and help you fix them.
Repair Internet Explorer in Windows 98To repair IE in Windows 98 systems, go to Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, then System Information. Click Tools, then Internet Explorer Repair Tool.
You may find that updrading IE will also fix the problems you're having. The most recent version of IE is Internet Explorer 7. You can download IE7 from here.
